MDF Christmas Tree all ready for santa!

Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy place! I know a lot of you don't want to know that Christmas is fast approaching!
I love Christmas so I am really enjoying creating Design Team projects with the lovely goodies from Jo at Imagine if
This weeks project was to take this laser cut MDF Christmas tree and make it beautiful!
If you missed Beth's project!

Jo had sent some gorgeous Christmas papers for us all to use so I chose this one to glue down for my base!

I've inked the edges but I changed my mind later on the final look I wanted to achieve.

With loads of flowers, bows and pearl trim I started to attach them all to the tree but was not happy with the outcome!

Im not one to give up so I carried on with the embellishing!
Next was time to put my star on top, I added this dimensional one painted a vintage cream over the one that comes in the pack!

Then I thought this is what's missing and did a white wash all over to tone everything down to a more shabby chic look!

for the final touch I've added light behind which gives a fab glow in the evening!

Sorry for the poor photo but this shows best the warm glow!

Happy crafting and see you all next week with another Christmas themed Design Team project.

On to Ngaere's creation next.

Christmas cards and a gift card Tag

Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy place!
I must say Christmas is my favourite holiday of the year so creating all the cards, decorations and gifts is such an enjoyable time.

We are having another blog hop so you don't miss any of the creations.
You can start here or
 You can go back here

As you can see from all the Design Teams creations Jo over at Imagine if has all the supplies you will need to get started on your own creations!

My task this week was to create a Christmas card! No way Jo! I couldn't stop at one so I made a few and then I also made a tag to hold a gift card!

I started with some red card stock for the base of my Christmas card and layered it up with silver embossed card (thank you Debbie) and then using some foam dots I added a traditional Santa cut out from a lovely sheet of paper from Jo then finished off with a selection of flowers, bling and a bow.

I had a look in my box of chipboard supplies from Imagine if! and oh what did I find but more Christmas stuff! lol I was like a kid in a candy shop!

I created a few different card backgrounds.  I inked and stained trees candles and deer, glued them on then added sentiments and bling to complete the collection of Christmas cards.

I wasn't finished yet though as I needed to create a tag to send to a friend!
I still had one of my tags left over from another project so I glued down a stunning paper from Jo then inked the edges to make it pop!

I added three leaves and red flat back pearls to create a holly, an inked deer, a stamped sentiment and some dyed seam binding and a pocket with a mini card on the back to finish off.

Shabby Chic Sleigh

Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy place!

Well Christmas is getting closer now so the Design Team are all working on some lovely ideas for you!
Jo over at Imagine if has all the laser cut chipboard and MDF in a huge range of shapes just perfect for your Christmas creations.

So you don't miss out on the other DT projects you can blog hop on over to Beth if you missed her and then off to Carol after here!

For my project this week I have created a "Shabby" style Sleigh to hold some truffles!

I have started by sanding and adding a gorgeous peach music paper, then using some white paint on the edges.

A few layers of lace trim in white and a soft peach. then a selection of flowers, pearl trim and a bow to finish off the embellishing.

I then went over the finished sleigh with white paint to tone down all the edges and embellishments to give the "Shabby Chic" look.

Haunted House Book Shelf

Hi everyone and welcome back!

This week Jo at Imagine if is having a blog hop so if you have joined in here you can go back for a look at what Carol has created

This weeks Design Team project for Imagine if is keeping with the theme of Halloween.

I used a chipboard house box from Imagine if and begun the process of staining all the edges then covering in Kaisercraft "Through the looking glass" paper.

I have left off one side so I could create a space for a few Halloween mini Junk Journals and added a draw to the top for storage and some interest!

The mini junk journals were created using packing card from Imagine if and little scraps of the papers from my stash.

For me the fun always begins in the embellishing! so I have added metal fittings for the draw handle and the legs. The spiders and skulls I rubbed with Viva Inka,a selection of flowers also Jo has these.
I have created an oval shape and glued bead around the edge to create a tray holding potions.

Finished off with some tea dyed trims and seam binding and draped black creepy cloth for more impact!

Happy Halloween!

Hop on over to see what Tash has created!

Halloween Card

Hi everybody and welcome back to my happy place!

This weeks design team project for Imagine if
I've chosen to make a card using laser cut alphabets.

At our house we celebrate Halloween! ;)

Starting with my letters I only had one O so making do I cut the Q to make the second O.
I then painted them orange and inked the edges using distress ink after the paint had dried.

While those where set aside to dry fully I grabbed some black cardstock and cut to the size I wanted and embossed with a spider web. I then used a silver ink pad and highlighted the web which came out amazing!
After roughing up the edges I cut out a jack 'o' lantern face and placed a piece of orange paper behind to make it stand out .

Now I could place the letters :D
once they where firmly attached I decorated with a nice little bow and placed a metal spider on it giving it that cute but creepy look.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Christmas is coming

Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy place and this weeks Design Team creation for Imagine if!
This weeks theme is "Frames"

Christmas is only 12 weeks away and im not one for leaving it until the last minute to create gifts for family and friends, with that in mind I had some awesome chipboard embellishments in my kit along with these gorgeous weeny frames.

I had a plan to create wall hangers from old CDs  so I started covering with a collection of adorable Christmas themed papers, once dry I inked the edges.

Next I painted all the frames red, once dry I used a thick coat of mod podge and a good sprinkle of glitter then another coat of mod podge to seal it!  Lots of Christmas sparkle!

I next attached the frames just along the bottom so a photo can be added.

Next is my ever fun part... to embellish! with a selection of Christmas themed chip board pieces that I have used Di stress inks to add colour, some flowers and leaves.

Final touches are some lace trim and a hanger before covering the back with another CD and matching papers!

Pearls, bows, butterflies and sentiments complete!

I cut down a photo to fit in the small frame...Perfect!

Hope you enjoyed this early Christmas treat and thank you for stopping by!
