Minature Armoire/Wardrobe DT project

 Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy place

 

This weeks Design Team Project is a little MDF wardrobe measuring 12cm high 6.5cm wide and 3cm deep. I decided to do this as a birthday present for my daughter as she is making a little doll house so perfect gift.

First step was to cover the outside in a base coat paper by kaisercraft (their little paper pads have been very handy)

Next was gluing and putting together this was a little tricky as the doors had to be slotted in at the same time so a lot of holding my tongue the right way.

Decorating time. I also had some chipboard frames from Imagine if so I cut the ends off and used Tim Holtz distress stain vintage photo to colour.

With some rose beads for handles, a little hat box and opening shoe box this project was looking complete.....or was it!

A  little skewer for the pole and handy paper clips for coat hangers this was looking pretty cute.

Altered Clip Board

Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy crafty place!

 

 

 

I decided to alter this clip board I was gifted at Christmas in a Vintage French theme and add it to my decorations in my room....you guessed it! French inspired!

 

The first thing I did was sand the entire board then stained it with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo di stress stain and then selected a paper in the colours I wanted to work with ....this one is Madame Boutique!

Glued to the front and back of the clip board.

 

 

I have inked the edges with Vintage Photo as well for the aged look.

 

 

Using the butterfly template from Imagine if I added three of the little ones using texture paste mixed with a little turquoise paint, when it dried I brushed over a little of the ink to tone down the brightness.

 

With the chosen sentiments and large butterfly from Imagine if and a wooden Eiffel Tower I stained them with the Vintage Photo stain and glued them down.

 

Finishing off with pearls, a mix of flowers, prima beads and  seam binding threaded through the top of the clip board and tied into a bow to hang!

Ocean Tag

Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy crafty place!

This is my first Design Team project of 2015 for Imagine if!
and there is a neat summer giveaway for you to enter!

I started off gluing the sea shell shapes onto the die cuts from Imagine if

then painted the tag with gesso and a coat of white and sea blue paint to created a swirling and blending of the two to get an ocean colour!

 

Next I used Mod podge and tissue to get the white foam wave effect, painted my sea horses with a yellow, toned with white and some tissue added for more texture!

 

Using the Mod Podge I crinkled some fine mesh cloth to the bottom of the tag!

 

Glued all the bits and pieces on!

 

I printed the sentiment and glued to scrap cardboard, cut out added it to the tag!

 

Finally I coloured the edges of all the chipboard and sentiments to highlight them a little, tied some fibres and added an anchor to the tag to finish off!

 

Lovely Ocean themed tag for summer.

Flowers and Seam Binding

I am sure you are all back into the swing of things as we are in the second week of 2015!

Time goes so fast.

 

I wanted to share with you some of the many crafting projects I have been making and hope to inspire you all along the way.

 

I started playing with scrap papers and Rosette flowers but soon found myself making lots of these gorgeous creations for adding to any craft project.

 

 

It was a good time to get some seam binding coloured as well so ive made a vintage collection

 

 

and also a shabby chic collection all in pretty packaging!

 

 

Along with some crochet pretties

 



This one is a Cream Jug or Sugar Bowl cover with glass beads!

 

This doily is going to be used in a journal im thinking!

Shabby Pink Santa Stocking

Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy place!

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas with lots of love, gifts, family, friends and way too much food!

 

The three of us wanted to change our theme to shabby this year and all being girls we chose more shades of pink!

 

 

I found an old cardigan in the perfect shade of pink for the stocking

 so just cut out from a template and stitched with my new sewing machine! (lucky me)

 

 

I have glued and stitched on layers of lace and appliques....just love the look!

 

I then made a tassel of fibre, lace, seam binding and pearl trim and stitched to the back of my flower which is made from a running stitch pink lace with a off white chiffon.

I added a lovely soft pink paper flower to finish off, a little white paint dabbed to tone down the colour!

Christmas Hideaway!

Wow how time has flown by!

Merry Christmas to you all and a very Happy New Year!

Todays project was a MDF box with windows (the same as my Halloween box)

To start off with I super glued it all together then painted the inside a nice pale cream.

 

 

 

While I left this to dry I worked on a mini fire place, I used left over chipboard to do this part then covered with a brick paper from Kaisercraft and used a print out from pinterest for the fire part.

I used some more chipboard and wood look paper from the same collection and made a little mantle.

Rather cute if I don't say so myself ;)

 

 

 

 

On to more fun the mini Christmas tree :D

I used the tip of our actual Christmas tree for this which worked perfect as it was always to long for the star.

I trimmed it into a rough triangle shape then glued little green, red, silver and gold plastic beads to look like baubles. And using one of imagine if's stars painted with Aztecs gold for the perfect tree topper.

 

 

 

 

I used the same paper from the mantle piece for the flooring of my little room after that was all in place the fireplace and tree where glued in and looking adorable. Back to pinterest again for a tiny box template for some little presents (it wouldn't be a Christmas scene without them)

 

 

 

 

I used an old red file to cover the outside to help strengthen the shape and wrapped some white ribbon around so now we have a miniature scene inside a Christmas gift!

 

Feeling the fireplace was missing something I had  some little elf shoe chipboard from Jo and thought hmmm!

I cut a rather rough looking sock out and painted them red with a white top and hey presto we have little stockings!

Making a mini wreath was a little tricky but

 it was just gluing beads onto some plastic so it would peel off once it had dried which took awhile. Oh and a sprinkle of glitter!

 So while that was drying the room was still missing something.. A chair!!

I had some unused cleaning sponges so i started cutting and gluing and wrapped with some fabric.

 

 

 

 

After a little more decorating of the mantle and placing a big white bow on top my little Christmas scene was finished

Burlap Christmas Stocking!

Hi everyone and welcome back to my Happy Place!....

 

Oh my goodness!

Christmas is almost here!


We all played a wee game guessing what each one of us had done with the Burlap stocking Jo had given us all!

 
Its funny how there is a kind of theme or style we all work with and was great to see what all the Design Team though!

Some thought I would do Shabby Chic as that's really been my theme on most of my Christmas projects and wow the house is looking great with all the decorations!
But then there were the others who thought flowers Lace pearls reds a touch of green with soft colours!

Well I would say there is a combination of all so a Shabby Chic/Traditional with the use of paper! yes even paper went into my stocking!

 

This weeks Design Team project is a burlap stocking!

Ready to fill with goodies.

 

I started off with gluing down some pretty Christmas themed paper,
 followed by layers of lace, ribbons and twine!
 

The fun embellishing began with making a selection of flowers that I clustered around where the stocking hangs,
 then added pearl trim, felt leaves bows and tied on two bells in matching colours.

 

 

The embellishing is similar on the toe to keep it all matching
 with the addition of three candles inked for some colour tucked in behind the flowers.

 

 

I hope you enjoyed this creation as I did creating something pretty to fill with goodies!

 is Beth and  my guess on what she would produce would be something that moves as she makes projects that are very interactive...hmmm lets see if I was close!
