Vintage Mixed media canvas

Hi everyone and welcome back to my "Happy Place"

As most of you know I have moved and now pretty settled.
While I was on the move the Design Team had fun using stencils from Imagine if so I wanted to show my first attempt at anything like this!

I painted the canvas white so I had a nice surface to work with, the edge I've inked with Tim Holtz Vintage photo.
The bird cage frame and words I used Tim Holtz stain...(just love this stuff)

I started stressing and ripping the paper in selected places for the aged look.

I started using the brick stencil with just white texture paste then coloured it with a pink paint for the circles and butterfly stencils.....I think it looks ok for a first time attempt!

The paper collection is My Minds Eye Lost & Found Madison Avenue!
the first layer I glued down after stressing the edges and inking with the Vintage Photo was a music sheet then under the torn area I added a small piece of a script for interest.

The top layer is from the same collection that I cut about a cm all around so its smaller than the underneath one then stressed and inked as well.
after placing the "Vintage Girl" and frame I rolled the paper at the top for more interest!
Finally some stamping and added colour to the bricks

The bird cage I used a small piece of chain to attach it to the V and have left it hanging for movement
The little birds I cut from a larger bird cage and coloured with inks.

Finally I have used a selection of flowers and leaves from Imagine if
inked with Vintage Photo for an aged look.
I tucked a fussy cut clock under the frame, then spritzed the canvas with Perfect pearls Vintage gold.

The lovely vintage lady was a leftover from another project for Jo.

Shabby French Boutique

Hi everyone welcome back to my happy place :)

This weeks DT project for Imagine if is a laser cut MDF art box.
After Jo said art box I knew exactly what I was going to do with it!

I had seen this idea on pinterest awhile ago and wanted to do my interpretation of a little shop.

I got right into it by gluing all the pieces together and painted the edges with a vintage white paint.

Then covered all the sections with a beautiful paper gifted to me by a dear friend that was just perfect for a French shabby look!

The little door I cut out using packaging from Imagine if, I stamped some white stayzon ink onto acetate for a window, added a metal embellishment painted in the vintage pink and aged it with some Victorian velvet ink.

Some of the embellishments I have made are the cameo painted with gesso and placed behind the door for some interest.

The little thimbles are buttons that I have glued some flowers in and attached to the display pole I made from left overs of the box.
The little bird picture is glued onto a metal embellishment from my stash.

Little vases made from beads, also the shelves have some crochet trim added for interest.
The little door handle I used a broken piece of a key....perfect!

I covered the outside of the box in same paper collection! love the sparkle!
Added a chipboard edge from Imagine if painted in the vintage pink.

Also used a fence made from Imagine if chipboard to hang bunches of flowers from, mini perfume bottles, Eiffel towers toned down with gesso, little books and a dress form adorn my little French boutique!

Sitting on the step inside the door is a tub of flowers.....

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the process

Wow another month has gone by way too fast.
Some lovely news that my son was getting married and an excuse to make lots of gifts for them both!
I started off with an Altered CD...one of my favourite things to make.

Nothing in my house is safe when I get on a creation roll! so out came two new cd's!

I glued the cd's onto some lovely Kaisercraft paper then trimmed with my craft knife.
the second cd I glue onto the back when its all complete to have a tidy finish.

All these embellishments from Imagine if are just perfect for all my creations!
The heart I painted with Inka gold then stamped with French script while the other pieces I used vintage photo stain to get an aged look.

First I inked the edge of the cd then glued on some bead dangle trim.
the laser cut chipboard pieces have been glued down but the sentiment "Love" I just touched the bottom so a photo of the couple can slip behind it...perfect!

With a selection of flowers and a chipboard flower placed at the bottom and a narrow lace trim added to the edge, a piece of seam binding added to the top for a hanger and a bow tucked in.

The second  cd is glued over the back and a spritz with Perfect Pearls for a sparkle...Perfect!

Sweet Nothings Mini Album

www.imagineif.co.nz

Hi everyone welcome back to my happy place and another blog hop!

Remember to leave a comment to be in the draw to win!
 2 pkts of felt flowers

Start here to begin the blog hop and enjoy all the Design Team creations

I couldn't help myself and I just had to create a mini album from some of the gorgeous products from Imagine if

Firstly I have used some packaging from Imagine if to construct the covers and spine.

I used two layers glued together for a thicker card

Once I had finished creating the mini album using the paper bag style with pockets and tags using the Kaisercraft "Sweet Nothings" Collection and Tim Holtz "Vintage Photo" Di stress ink.

I moved on to creating double sided photo mats that slip into the top opening of the paper bag!

On the cover of the mini album I have used three of the laser cuts I just inked and painted and a cute metal embellishment from Imagine if.
Some beautiful soft blue lace and a crochet flower to finish off this lovely paper!

The spine I have wrapped some seam binding around and created a double bow with another metal embellishment from Imagine if that I added a heart bling to for some sparkle!
