Family Christmas Recipe's Journal

Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy place!

This weeks Design Team project Jo over at Imagine if    said "Surprise me"!

Go here to see the creation before me

One of the things I had always wanted to do was gather all my family's generations of Christmas recipe's and store them in one place to this was the perfect opportunity!

I have used a recycled book cover with this gorjuss paper collection sparkles and all!
The dangle I created is a selection of beads, bling, bells and ribbon threaded onto the cotton I used for the binding.

The paper collection is just so pretty I just needed to turn it into pages, add tucks and pockets.

I went through inking the pages for the di stressed look using my Tim Holtz inks!

I picked out a selection of chipboard and felt from Imagine if!
I will leave a list of links to the website at the bottom of this blog which I decorated up with di stress stain, stickles and ink.

I have completed my journal by creating cards, mini file holders, and envelopes to hold all the family recipes.

List of items used in this project from Imagine if:
chipboard gingerbread man
chipboard snowflake
chipboard santa hat
laser cut felt tree
laser cut felt gingerbread man

MDF Christmas Tree all ready for santa!

Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy place! I know a lot of you don't want to know that Christmas is fast approaching!
I love Christmas so I am really enjoying creating Design Team projects with the lovely goodies from Jo at Imagine if
This weeks project was to take this laser cut MDF Christmas tree and make it beautiful!
If you missed Beth's project!

Jo had sent some gorgeous Christmas papers for us all to use so I chose this one to glue down for my base!

I've inked the edges but I changed my mind later on the final look I wanted to achieve.

With loads of flowers, bows and pearl trim I started to attach them all to the tree but was not happy with the outcome!

Im not one to give up so I carried on with the embellishing!
Next was time to put my star on top, I added this dimensional one painted a vintage cream over the one that comes in the pack!

Then I thought this is what's missing and did a white wash all over to tone everything down to a more shabby chic look!

for the final touch I've added light behind which gives a fab glow in the evening!

Sorry for the poor photo but this shows best the warm glow!

Happy crafting and see you all next week with another Christmas themed Design Team project.

On to Ngaere's creation next.

Christmas cards and a gift card Tag

Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy place!
I must say Christmas is my favourite holiday of the year so creating all the cards, decorations and gifts is such an enjoyable time.

We are having another blog hop so you don't miss any of the creations.
You can start here or
 You can go back here

As you can see from all the Design Teams creations Jo over at Imagine if has all the supplies you will need to get started on your own creations!

My task this week was to create a Christmas card! No way Jo! I couldn't stop at one so I made a few and then I also made a tag to hold a gift card!

I started with some red card stock for the base of my Christmas card and layered it up with silver embossed card (thank you Debbie) and then using some foam dots I added a traditional Santa cut out from a lovely sheet of paper from Jo then finished off with a selection of flowers, bling and a bow.

I had a look in my box of chipboard supplies from Imagine if! and oh what did I find but more Christmas stuff! lol I was like a kid in a candy shop!

I created a few different card backgrounds.  I inked and stained trees candles and deer, glued them on then added sentiments and bling to complete the collection of Christmas cards.

I wasn't finished yet though as I needed to create a tag to send to a friend!
I still had one of my tags left over from another project so I glued down a stunning paper from Jo then inked the edges to make it pop!

I added three leaves and red flat back pearls to create a holly, an inked deer, a stamped sentiment and some dyed seam binding and a pocket with a mini card on the back to finish off.

Shabby Chic Sleigh

Hi everyone and welcome back to my happy place!

Well Christmas is getting closer now so the Design Team are all working on some lovely ideas for you!
Jo over at Imagine if has all the laser cut chipboard and MDF in a huge range of shapes just perfect for your Christmas creations.

So you don't miss out on the other DT projects you can blog hop on over to Beth if you missed her and then off to Carol after here!

For my project this week I have created a "Shabby" style Sleigh to hold some truffles!

I have started by sanding and adding a gorgeous peach music paper, then using some white paint on the edges.

A few layers of lace trim in white and a soft peach. then a selection of flowers, pearl trim and a bow to finish off the embellishing.

I then went over the finished sleigh with white paint to tone down all the edges and embellishments to give the "Shabby Chic" look.
